On Monday, February 12, opening of the final stage of the Republican contest of professional skill of teachers of "45 minutes of fame" took place at Donetsk republican institute of additional pedagogical education.

From January 18 to January 30 І stage of the Republican research works presentation contest of pupils - members of Small Academy of Sciences took place in Yenakiyevo.

On Tuesday, January 30, the Board of the DPR Ministry of Education and Science, where the head of department Larisa Polyakova made a report on the work done in 2017, took place in the Ministry of Education and Science.

On Tuesday, January 30, in Shakhtar Plaza hotel complex the festive action "Its Majesty Ball", in which 550 people – pupils of lyceums and other general education organizations, students of institutions of secondary and higher professional education have taken part, took place.

On January 27, a solemn celebration of the third anniversary of State educational institution of higher professional education Donbass Law Academy (DLA) was held in the assembly hall of V.Kuibyshev Palace of culture, in Donetsk.

On January 25, on Tatiana Day, in the Donetsk People's Republic the Festival of youth of Donbass was held for the first time. It passed under patronage of the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, within the Humanitarian program for reunification of the people of Donbass.

On Thursday, January 18, within the Year of history of Donbass declared by the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko the International scientific and practical conference on: "Pereiaslav Treaty in the history and historical memory of the Russian people (1654-2018)" took place in Donetsk.

On January 18 in Donetsk the solemn meeting devoted to the 364th anniversary by Pereiaslav Treaty who had marked reunion of Ukraine with Russia took place. This significant event took place on January 18, 1654 when the historical decision on association of the territory of Zaporizhian Host with the Russian kingdom had been made.

On December 26 in Donetsk circus "Kosmos" Minister of Education and Science Larisa Polyakova and deputies of the State Duma of Russian Federation from the Communist Party Kazbek Taysayev and Vladimir Rodin wished happy New Year to students of the educational organizations subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science.

On Monday, December 18, the ceremonial opening of municipal preschool educational institution "Aleksandrovsky kindergarten and nursery No. 35 "Dandelion" was held in the urban-type settlement of Aleksandrovka in two kilometers from the line of contact.

On Friday, December 15, the Minister of Education and Science of the Donetsk People's Republic Larisa Polyakova, the deputy minister of youth, sport and tourism Alexey Yarosh, the deputy head of administration of the city of Snejnoye Rasheed Dubin, the head of department of education of city administration Irina Kiselyova and many others took part in the visiting meeting of Coordination council on patriotic education which took place in the city of Snejnoye.

On November 20 within the actions for development of the relations between the public of the Donetsk People's Republic and the public of the Republic of Italy Maurizio Marrone, the Chairman of the Representative center of the Donetsk People's Republic in the city of Turin, Italy visited Donetsk Academy of Management and Public Administration under the Head of Donetsk People's Republic.

Educational department of Latvia wants to undertake reform on which  in three years' time schools of ethnic minorities have to pass to teaching only in the state language. Thus, Russian is excluded completely.

From 10 to 13 November open regional competitions on sports modeling of knitting aircraft were held in the village of Pokrovskoye (Neklinovsky rayon, Rostov region, Russia). The contest was attended by more than 100 participants, which included 10 teams from the Rostov region and the Donetsk People's Republic.
