Within the first stage of the contest the following events took place: distance research works estimation, participants' basic disciplines educational achievements estimation (holding of examinations) and young scientists' research works presentation.
48 pedagogical employees of the general education organizations of the city took part in work of jury of the contest.
The jury stated a variety of research works subjects, their practical orientation, ability of most of participants to present and analyze their works, to draw conclusions on the basis of pilot studies.
The best results were shown by pupils of schools No. 2, No. 8, No. 13, No. 15, No.25, gymnasiums, lyceum of information technologies, Yenakiievo Central youth club.
Pedagogical staff of educational institutions has done considerable work on organization and carrying out of the first stage of the contest. Teachers of the general education organizations No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 25, 29, 40, gymnasiums, lyceum of information technologies quickly and qualitatively provided preparation, carrying out and checking of control tasks on basic disciplines.
All works are drawn up properly, in full accordance with qualifying standards.
During presentation participants of the contest accurately, logically, laconically expounded material, with deep arguments proved relevance of the research issue and subject-matter of the problem taking into account their own participation in research, showed high competence. Answers to questions of judges and opponents were full, exhaustive. The jury stated contestants high level of speech standard, ability to use presentation.
Following the results of examinations jury drew a conclusion on a high and sufficient level of theoretical preparation of participants.
19 works awarded the first place will take part in the correspondence stage II of the Republican stage of a competition protection of student's research works of member pupils of Small Academy of Sciences.

19 participants became winners. 5 pupils were second, 16 pupils of the general education organizations and the organizations of additional education of the city were third.
