At the Donetsk national technical university the unique event took place – Foucault's pendulum was open for the first time in Donbass. Employees and students of the university as well as guests of honor – the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Alexander Anopriyenko, the acting chief of Head department of geology and geoecology at the head of the DPR Sergey Vyborov, the chief of Head department of documentary providing and archiving of the DPR Irina Kostenko, representatives of mass media were going to participate in this historical moment.

On February 22 in the Donetsk academy of transport there has passed the Lesson on courage: "We ought to defend the world won by our fathers", devoted to the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

On January 27, a solemn celebration of the third anniversary of State educational institution of higher professional education Donbass Law Academy (DLA) was held in the assembly hall of V.Kuibyshev Palace of culture, in Donetsk.

On Thursday, January 18, within the Year of history of Donbass declared by the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko the International scientific and practical conference on: "Pereiaslav Treaty in the history and historical memory of the Russian people (1654-2018)" took place in Donetsk.

On November 20 within the actions for development of the relations between the public of the Donetsk People's Republic and the public of the Republic of Italy Maurizio Marrone, the Chairman of the Representative center of the Donetsk People's Republic in the city of Turin, Italy visited Donetsk Academy of Management and Public Administration under the Head of Donetsk People's Republic.

At the end of October the 14th International exhibition "Power Electronics" took place in the International exhibition center "Crocus Expo" (Moscow, the Russian Federation). The awards ceremony of winners of the 3rd All-Russian competition " Best Workings of Young Researchers and Engineers in the field of Power Electronics" was held as part of it.

On Tuesday, October 17, the ceremonial meeting of the Academic council devoted to the 80th anniversary of the university and opening of the International scientific conference of students and young scientists "Donetsk readings 2017: Russian world as civilization basis" took place in the assembly hall of the main building of Donetsk national university.

Scientific and educational event "The II expedition of children's surgeons" was conducted by children's surgery, anesthesiology and emergency department of N.I. Pirogov Russian national research medical university (Moscow, the Russian Federation) in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka of the Gelendzhik district on the basis of a camping "Nazarova cleft".

On Friday, September 1, in the Donetsk People's Republic a new institution of higher professional education – the Donbass agrarian academy opened.

On Thursday, August 31, a solemn student initiation ceremony of the Donetsk academy of management and public service under the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic took place in a conference room of "Shakhtar Plaza" hotel.
