Students from the different cities of the Russian Federation, such as Yekaterinburg, Saratov, Moscow and Samara participated in an expedition. 5th and 6th years students of medical faculty No.1 and medical faculty No.3 of pediatric unit of M. Gorky Donetsk national medical university Vladislav Halabuzar, Lyubov Zalyubovskaya and Ilya Lepikhov also took part in work of the expedition.
All participants were divided into 3 teams so that in each of them there were representatives of different cities. The camp was located in 500 meters from the sea, for participants a field kitchen was installed.
Organizers made a busy agenda. Various competitions were held: operative measure imitation a craniotrypesis, salvage of the victim from the fire and first aid treatment, desmurgy, in particular, applying plaster steak; stress resistance training; brain ring; lectures on the subject: "Legal aspects in work of the doctor" and "Children forearm bones fractures". Promenades to the sea and sports games were organized on breaks between competitions and master classes.
Imitation of the situation "a ship-wreck" during which participating young men needed to spend 24 hours on a saving raft in the sea was the most difficult test for participants.
Girls had to set up the camp, having involved minimum resources, as "got lost in the wood". The principal of the expedition was Nikolay Pavlovich Shastin who generously imparted invaluable experience on survival in the wood and on use of make-shifts for making a fire and organization of night lodging.
On the penultimate day all participants carried out a sortie to the mountain area to dolmens (places of ancient people burial). During all expedition each participant kept the diary, writing down the most important and remarkable events in a day to analyse and comprehend their events.
Organizers of the expedition invited Donetsk medical university team to participate in the next summer expedition of 2018 and offered further cooperation.
DonNMU team expressed gratitude to the children's surgery, anesthesiology and emergency department of N.I. Pirogov RNRMU (Moscow) for the excellent organization of the scientific and educational event.
