"In the Republic there are 23 special educational institutions which are ready to accommodate children with special needs for training in programs of general education. So, in particular, 3 sanatorium schools for children with scoliosis, psychoneurological diseases, diseases of cardiovascular system offer training to children from the 1st to the 9th forms.

Unlike Ukrainian schools, sanatorium schools of the Donetsk People's Republic can accommodate children not for one year, but for three years. Any expert or any doctor working at a such school will tell that within a year it is almost impossible to make a full recovery of the child with similar diseases. Three-year term is optimum for restoration with those diseases which I mentioned.

Besides, 20 special boarding schools are also ready to accommodate children  from the 1st to the 9th forms. These are schools for children with disturbances of organs of articulation, blind and cecutient children, deaf and hearing-impaired children.

I remind that the Center of additional education for blind and cecutient children and adults is operates in the Republic. The center is unique, there isn't any present analogs to it in Ukraine. It is both psychological aftertreatment and opportunity of new education, and training for new professions.

To study in special educational institutions of the DPR it is enough to have the minimum package of documents: medical referral, personal records,  the child's birth certificate copy, parents' statement  and health state certificate. If we speak about sanatorium schools, respectively, results of examinations.

Today 28 children from the territories under control of Ukraine are studying at boarding schools. They are mainly schools for deaf and hearing-impaired children.

Besides, 15 schools of the Republic are ready to render educational services in inclusive training", – the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Irina Simonova said.
