The Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture participated in organizing the conference and presented their scientific reports on priority themes. The joint work of LSTU and DonNACEA in the framework of the conference was organized distantly, the plenary session was held in the mode of a web conference.

The Organizing Committee of the conference included Professor Yevgeny Gorokhov, President of SEI HPE DonNACEA, head of the Department of Metal Structures and Constructions and a foreign member of the RAACS. He addressed the participants of the conference and noted the long-term cooperation of the Department of Metal Structures and Constructions of DonNACEA with the Department of Metal Constructions of LSTU. Yevgeny Gorokhov also stressed the historical role of the V.A. Kucherenko CSRIBS in the formation of many generations of designing engineers for building structures.

The plenary session of the conference was opened with welcoming words to the participants from I. I. Vedyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Director of the V.A. Kucherenko CSRIBS and Honorary Builder of Russia, as well as P.V. Saraev, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee and Rector of LSTU.

The participants of the meeting listened to three topical scientific reports such as Designs of Unique Buildings and Structures in Scientific Research of DonNACEA (Priorities of E.V. Gorokhov’s Scientific School) by V.F. Mushchanov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at DonNACEA; Improving the Reliability and Durability of Electric Grid Structures by Y.V. Nazim, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Relations at DonNACEA; and Basic Scientific Knowledge in Materials Science and Technology of Building Composites by E.M. Chernyshov, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, Head of the Central Black Earth office of the RAACS CTS, Director of the Higher School of Materials Science at Voronezh State Technical University and Academician of RAACS.

Further, the conference was organized in sections for three thematic areas: Modern Problems in the Design and Calculation of Building Structures, Trends in the Development of Construction Materials Science, and Innovative Technologies in the Regional Construction Complex. The Organizing Committee of the conference noted the high level of reports and the breadth of the discussion of scientific topics.
