“Career Day – 2019” was the first step in the implementation of the state graduate employment program

As part of the implementation of the state project of the Graduates’ Employment Roadmap at the Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky, February 26, Republican Career Day was held.

Students, employers-industrialists, business executives, managers, social and medical workers representing the whole spectrum of the DPR economy, trade union leaders, public and political figures of the country gathered to consolidate efforts, exchange views and achieve results. The aim of this truly large-scale Forum was to work out the single mechanisms of graduates’ employment. The Social Partnership Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Donetsk People's Republic is actively engaged in the implementation of these plans.

– Today we have a truly memorable day. We have begun practical steps to implement this important project, which will give graduates, specialists in all areas of training a start in life, and will help young people open the doors to enterprises and organizations and start a successful career, said in his greeting Andrei Alekhin, Director of the Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Science. It is very important that the efforts aimed at the fulfillment of this task give only a positive result. And it depends, first of all, on our joint and orderly work.

As Professor Lidia Omelyanovich, First Vice-Rector of DonNUET named after M. Tugan-Baranovsky, Chairman of the Council for Social Partnership of the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR, emphasized in her speech, the university has rightfully become the base for the first Republican Career Day, as it began to hold traditional Job Fairs, Career Days since 2005. Some experience has been gained, and our staff are glad to share it with colleagues.

As part of the Republican event “Career Day – 2019”, employers (enterprises, organizations, institutions) were given the opportunity to make a presentation, questionnaire and personal interview with job applicants, select the most interesting candidates from among the graduates for existing vacancies, conclude contracts for students’ work experience internship with the subsequent employment, to offer places for internship and creation of personnel reserve.

Undergraduate students had a chance to obtain detailed information about enterprises, organizations, institutions – participants of the event, to establish contacts with representatives, to transfer employers resume for review, to get answers to the questions they are interested in, and finally, an opportunity to find the first place of work.
