The children’s dance team “Rodnichok” from Makeyevka became the winner of the International Festival “Star Wave” in the Crimea

The pupils of the folk studio of contemporary dance “Rodnichok” of Makeyevka Municipal Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity named after V. G. Dzharty took part in the International Festival “Star Wave”, which was held in the Crimea from 18 to 25 June.

Original performances, special energy, and absolute dedication of young Makeyevka performers captivated the jury of the festival and brought a well-deserved victory. The rivals’ serious training did not confuse our pupils, on the contrary, it added the contest a keen and irresistable desire to win.

Victoria Sikunda and Kirill Buiskikh, who performed solos, as well as dance performances of the team: “One boy in the village”, “Lady Rock” took the first places in the age category of 9-11 years old in the nomination “Pop Dance”. The duet of Daria Cherkashina and Elizaveta Mymrikova won the first place with the dance composition “Sisters” in the age category of 12-14 years old. Young dancers were particularly marked by the festival’s prize for their bright individuality.

The organizers of the “Star wave” arranged a real celebration for young talents. Master classes, animation programs, a sand figure contest, Holi’s colours festival, a discoteque, and a grand final firework were held on the picturesque Black Sea beach of the village Mezhvodnoe. The children had the opportunity to adopt experience of the leading masters of choreography, relax and chat with their talented peers.
