During the event, universities and a number of enterprises established new contractual relations. Moreover, the teleconference resulted in the agreements with partner universities from the Russian Federation, allowing DPR students to practise and be trained at Russian enterprises.
“Career Day – 2019” has become an effective platform for a dialogue between universities and representatives of the labor market, Lydia Omelyanovich said. “We are interested in university graduates being employed and demanded in our Republic, and it is necessary to establish contacts between employers and educational institutions, to form a mechanism of mutual social responsibility of the educational system and employers in using the student’s potential.”
Council member Victoria Sigua shared her experience in the employment of graduates of the Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. She spoke about the activities of the specialist graduation and promotion department, which provides real assistance to students and young professionals in obtaining jobs. The university has created an electronic database of students and graduates, containing contact information and allowing you to quickly select applicants for open vacancies. There is also an electronic database of construction enterprises of the region, which are potential employers for young professionals and graduates of the Academy of the previous years. Information given in these registries is quickly updated, students and representatives of the labor market have full information about each other, which allows young professionals to get a real opportunity to find a job, and employers to replenish their staff with young professionals. According to Victoria Sigua, this work has a good effect – at the end of the previous year the employment rate of DonNASA graduates was 93%.
Olga Chernaya, a member of the Council, noted that the problem of youth employment is one of the most urgent in the Republic, and the government and educational institutions paid great attention to its solution. Career-guidance work has been strengthened, all higher professional educational institutions hold events that promote the employment of students and graduates, and take great efforts to amend legislation protecting the interests of young professionals.
Summing up the meeting, the members of the Council for Social Partnership in the field of Education stressed that educational organizations, employment centers, authorities and employers would continue and improve systematic collaboration. Only joint efforts will help to solve urgent problems of employment and use the students’ potential to ensure the social and economic development of the DPR.
