Today, on February 14, the Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Larisa Polyakova visited Uglegorsk special boarding school №6 where the ceremonial opening after its restoration was held.

Also the deputy Minister of Science and Education Irina Simonova, the head of administration of Uglegorsk Oleg Neledva, the acting head of administration of Yenakiyevo Dmitry Lysenko, guests from Bryansk region – the rector of Bryansk institute of professional development of educators Ivan Pikhenko and the director of Pochep mechanical and agrarian technical school Victor Kulyakin participated in the action.

"Good afternoon, dear friends! – Larisa Polyakova addressed herself to the audience. – The boarding school didn't work for two years, there was recovery work. Today, at last, it opened its doors. It is a holiday both for children and for adults. I congratulate you! Our Donetsk People's Republic lives, is being restored, developing and today's action is its demonstration. I really want the boarding school to become a home for children who need our care. I am sure that you, children, will grow up real patriots. I wish you a peaceful sky and very good health!"

The attendees observed a minute of silence for memory of the dead for their hometown. Photos reminded of Uglegorsk and boarding school destructions. Verses and songs about the terrible endured events sounded.

The principal of the boarding school Irina Shetelya expressed words of gratitude to the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko, the Minister of Education and Science Larisa Polyakova, management of the city, empathic people from the Russian Federation, builders.

Participants at the event warmly welcomed the first pupils, and children prepared a concert for guests. Orphan children, children deprived of parental care and also children with health limitations, including children with the weakened sight will study at the boarding school.

Cozy classes, game rooms, bedrooms, the assembly hall are for them. The Minister of Education and Science personally checked what conditions the children will live in.

"This boarding school was almost completely destroyed as a result of AFU fighting. One of three buildings has been restored so far, now there are works in the second educational building. I know that atmosphere of homeliness as it used to be before the war will come back. It is very important that teaching staff is the same, that employees participated in restoration of the building too", - Larisa Polyakova emphasized in communication with media members.

According to the director of educational institution, a huge amount of work has been done in this building: the roof and glazing have been completely restored, new systems of water supply, heating installed, internal works carried out.

The building is intended to house 70 people. Now 22 children of the age of 7 to 16 are living there, but soon they will become more. In general the boarding school can house 300 people.
