The forum took place in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation, from June, 30 to July, 2. The military lyceum was making its way toward the new height for four long years. In 2018, at the invitation of the State Memorial Museum of A.V. Suvorov the students took part in this outstanding event for the first time. Meanwhile the lyceum has top places in individual competition nominations and the 2nd team place at the Forum-2019.
The topic of Forum-2021 was “The Defenders of Russian Land: Saint Blessed Prince Aleksandr Nevsky and the heirs. Dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the birth of Aleksandr Nevsky”. The event knit students and cadets of the Russian Federation, the Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic.
The team “Heirs of Donbass Victory” having passed the draft tests in absentia brought its project “God is not in power – God is in truth: The help of the Supreme forces to the Russian Soldiers”, a dramatic performance “Aleksandr Nevsky on the eve of the battle at Lake Peipus” and a serious store of knowledge.
The result of the six-month drill lived up to the team’s mentors’ promise: the author of the project Vladislav Gorelov after its defence took the 2nd degree diploma. They won the historical quiz and the game on the stations of the junior and senior children. The Donetsk citizens were honoured with commendation of the Interregional Public Patriotic Movement “ETERNALLY ALIVE” for the victory in the competition – the presentation of the teams. The grand total of the team is the banner of the Winner of the XI All-Russian Youth Military and Historical Forum “Aleksandrovsky Styag” which they brought to their home Donetsk People’s Republic.
Due to the providers of the Forum, all participants were also involved in a wide cultural and historical programme. They visited Ust-Izhora and Peter-Paul Fortress, and the Aleksandr Nevsky Monastery, where they took part in a collective prayer before the relics of the Saint Blessed Prince Aleksandr Nevsky. They watched the military and historical reconstruction of the Battle of the Neva and participated in various masterclasses and other events.
The trip of the team was supported by the Russian Centre.
We should note, that the Forum “Aleksandrovsky Styag” is held annually (since 2011) in order to introduce spiritual, moral and patriotic education of the youths based on the historic examples of the heroism of the Russian Army. The competitive programme includes a historical quiz, a game on the stations (in two age categories), a project competition and a team presentation competition.
