The graduation ceremony was attended by Gennady Onishchenko, the first Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Education and Science Committee, Vladimir Antonov, the DPR Deputy Prime Minister, Vladimir Bidyovka, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, Mikhail Kushakov, the DPR Minister of Education and Science, Olga Dolgoshapko, the DPR Minister of Health Care, and other honorary guests.

Vladimir Antonov, the DPR Deputy Prime Minister, congratulated the DonNMU staff on the memorable event. “Donetsk National Medical University is justly considered as the flagship in medical education; it is famous not only in the Donetsk People’s Republic but also in countries of near and far abroad. The University’s faculty is a joint team of patriots of their native land, who continue the best traditions of several generations of their colleagues. I sincerely thank the management and teaching staff of the University for the high level of students’ training, and I wish you, graduates, become excellent specialists,” said Vladimir Antonov to the participants of the celebration.

The State Duma deputy Gennady Onishchenko, who once also graduated from Donetsk Medical University, reminded of the most important mission of the doctor. “Pillars of medicine are serving people and explicit recognition of the human life as the basic value,” he stressed in his speech and urged young specialists never forget it.

Mikhail Kushakov, the DPR Minister of Education and Science, congratulated the University staff and graduates and said with confidence, “The years of study were difficult, as you have been subjected to the ordeal of war. However, your work is rewarded, and today the graduates receive two diplomas. It is a great accomplishment of the whole team, which has worked hard to achieve the goal. We strongly believe that you will bring your knowledge to life!”

Olga Dolgoshapko, the DPR Minister of Health Care, also emphasized that diplomas of the Russian Federation can be viewed as a reward to the graduates for their courage, fortitude, and belief in victory. Vladimir Bidyovka, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, called the state diplomas of the Russian Federation an important step towards integration with the Russian Federation.

Grigory Ignatenko, Vice-Chancellor of M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University, encouraged the graduates, who chose the most humane and dedicated profession in the world, always deserve it!
