The First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Kushakov addressed himself with welcome speech to participants and guests of the conference. "I wish productive work to the participants of our conference. I wish us, having enriched with knowledge and having exchanged experience, could begin successfully new academic year and cope with objectives", he said.
On behalf of National Council, the Chairman of the Committee for training, science and culture Miroslav Rudenko congratulated the attendees on the beginning of new academic year. In his address he dwelt on the major reference issues in teaching socio-humanistic disciplines, historical dynamics Donbass resident’s self-identity.
During the conference the first deputy minister made the report "About achievements, purposes and tasks of higher education of the Donetsk People's Republic". "Now the main task of the educational organizations of higher education is training of the competitive experts capable to develop new ideas, think, adapt creatively to changing conditions of labor market and to work successfully in dynamically developing society", – Mikhail Kushakov emphasized.
He stated that in the Republic educational activity of is being carried out by 20 educational organizations of higher education in which in for the end 2016-2017 academic year 41 272 students studied in 135 fields of preparation and specialties. Last academic year the procedure of reorganization of the Donetsk national technical university by demerger from its structure Academy of Civil Protection with the subsequent creation of Public Educational Institution of Higher Professional Training Academy of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR was carried out.
The first deputy minister added that today the task set by the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko of the specialists training organization in the sphere of agriculture is carried out. "We continue to carry out the tasks set by the leaders of the Republic. In particular, in new academic year the Donbass agrarian academy will open the doors", – Mikhail Kushakov said.
Also, he pointed out active development of the international activity: in three years 3 573 graduates have defended theses and gained diplomas of the educational organizations of higher education of the Russian Federation. Besides, in comparison with previous year the number of the places in 2017-2018 academic year financed by budgetary appropriations of the Republican budget of the Donetsk People's Republic has increased by 4 016 places. For the last three years in the system of higher education two educational and methodical complexes, 19 dissertation councils on the basis of EO VPO have been organized, 115 dissertations for a degree of the candidate and doctor of science defended.
In conclusion the first deputy minister dwelt on the Concept of education and science system reforming developed last academic year and based on the principle of continuity of training and education. Its main goals are: improvement of quality of education of the graduate, assistance in the organization of granting the first workplace to the graduate, international integration and others.
In her turn, the head of department of higher education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR Tatyana Denisova emphasized importance of the processes happening in the HPE system. "The August conference is starting point of new affairs, a new round of life in higher education. For many decades higher education hasn't endured such number of changes which are happening in recent years ", – she stated.
Within work of the conference the chairman of Education and Science Employees Union of the Donetsk People's Republic Asya Gorshkova told about activity of labor union from September, 2016 to August, 2017.
Besides, the deputy minister of youth, sport and tourism Alexey Yarosh announced the basic principles of civil and patriotic education of youth in the context of higher education.
Information on introduction of the State sports complex "Ready to Work and Defense of the Donetsk People's Republic" in the educational organizations was made by the leading expert of additional education department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR Igor Makushchenko.
The Vice-rector for academic work of Donetsk Academy of Management and Public Administration under the Head of Donetsk People's Republic Larisa Kostina informed the audience on risk management while reforming system of higher education in the Republic.
The chairman, vice rector for scientific and pedagogical and educational work of Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky Donetsk national university of economy and trade Alexander Ivanchenko reported about activities of Coordination council for realization of state policy in the sphere of educational work with children and youth at the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR in the section of realization of problems of student's youth education.
Also at the conference Head of SM "Young Republic" Nikita Kiosev presented the Republican program of student government.
Besides, issues of ensuring safe operation of the buildings and constructions which are on balance of HPE institutions were taken up. The chief specialist of labor protection department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR Vadim Potapov spoke on the matter.
It should be noted that five teachers living in temporarily under control of Ukraine also took part in work of the conference.
