The ceremony was attended by Mikhail Kushakov, the Minister of Education and Science of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Svetlana Drozhzhina, the rector of DonNUET and representatives of the university’s faculty, Vladislav Gruzdev, vice-rector for scientific work of the Kostroma State University, Vladimir Vnukov, assistant to the senator from the Kostroma region, and Dmitry Kudrya, deputy of the Duma of Kostroma.
The Minister of Education and Science noted the importance of concluding the Agreement. “The development of inter-university relations is the most essential area of activity for integration into the Russian educational and scientific space, and the Ministry of Education and Science gives every assistance to this work. Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade, which is on the eve of the 100th anniversary of its founding, is one of the leaders of this process. I am sure that the signing of the Agreement will be an important step in expanding productive cooperation for the benefit of both universities,” Mikhail Kushakov emphasized.
Rector Svetlana Drozhzhina noted the significance of the event for Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade. “DonNUET has already concluded 37 cooperation agreements with Russian universities. Kostroma State University is one of our partners we have been cooperating with, in all areas of scientific and educational activities since the Republic was established, and today we are documenting this cooperation,” Svetlana Vladimirovna noted.
Vladislav Gruzdev, vice-rector for scientific work at Kostroma State University, warmly welcomed his colleagues. “I would like to wish that our cooperation, documented today, will yield results that can be applied for the benefit of the Republic. Everything we do is another indicator that the Republic has already succeeded and will continue to develop in the future,” he said.
Within the framework of the Agreement, Donetsk and Kostroma universities intend to conduct joint research, exchange experience, and increase the academic mobility of students.
