On March 26, three groups of second-year student-journalists attended a lecture Formats and Genres of Modern Electronic Media. Sergey Ilchenko conducted a lesson, using modern technologies, and involved students in an interactive game. Students were asked to make a list of the best books and films which they would recommend reading and viewing to their friends and acquaintances.
During the lesson, the students identified the functions of the media, using specific examples, examined how the economic function of the media affected information, education, and entertainment. During the lesson, its participants watched fragments of the Genius intellectual games in which Sergey Ilchenko took part, as well as his author’s program Halls of the Mind. Together with the professor, the students analyzed the format of these programs. On the same day, fourth-year student-journalists took part in the author’s discussion seminar by Sergey Ilchenko, Culture as a Factor of Professionalization in Journalism Education.
From February 27 to March 1, student-journalists and students of the additional professional retraining courses Correspondence ‒ Leading Broadcast Skills are going to attend a workshop on How not to Overwhelm an Interview, listen to a course of lectures Actual Problems of Modern Journalism, and become participants in the special seminar Media in Conditions of Ideological Confrontation.
Sergey Ilchenko also gifted the textbooks The Course of Radio and Television Journalism, Television Journalism, Genres of Journalism, and Television Journalist, Fundamentals of Creative Activity and the author’s monograph How the Media Deceive Us.
