A round-table discussion was held at the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages dedicated to advanced training of the institute teachers as a part of integration with the Russian Federation

A round-table discussion “summing up the advanced training of the teachers of the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages in 2019” was held on Wednesday, January 15, at the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages. The Minister of Education and Science of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Mikhail Kushakov, took part in its work.

The Minister noted the contribution of the institute’s staff to the establishment and development of the educational system of the Republic, thanked the university veterans and teachers who preserved the best traditions of higher education and gave young people the opportunity to get a decent education in their native land.

Mikhail Kushakov focused the participants’ attention on the need for a steady increase in the quality of training and advanced training of language teachers, historians, translators and psychologists of the Republic within the framework of integration into the educational, scientific and cultural space of the Russian Federation. The Minister emphasized that international activity is one of the priority directions in the development of higher professional education of the Republic, and noted the active work of the GIFL in strengthening of the cooperation with universities of the Russian Federation.

As part of the round table, the Rector of the GIFL, Svetlana Kochetova, spoke about the main forms of international work at the institute and acquainted with the results of interaction with Russian colleagues in 2019. 

Among the traditional forms of cooperation that contribute to improving the qualifications of the institute's specialists are participation in scientific conferences, forums, webinars, seminars, contests, grant programs, publication of scientific articles in Russian editions, defense of graduate qualification works by masters in Russian universities and obtaining education documents, membership in international organizations and associations, organization and implementation of international projects on the basis of the GIFL, the examination of scientific research, meetings with public activists, as well as advanced training courses in Russia by faculty staff.

As the rector noted, teachers of the institute improved their qualifications at the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen (St. Petersburg), Center for Advanced Studies of the Taganrog Institute named after A.P. Chekhov (branch) of the Russian State University of Economics (RINH) (Taganrog), Russian University of Friendship of Peoples (Moscow), ANO DPO “Interregional Institute for Educational Development” (Rostov-on-Don) and at the Moscow State Pedagogical University (Moscow)  in 2019. 

The report of associate professor Natalya Ivanova was dedicated to cooperation with Moscow State Pedagogical University. Since April 2018, when in order to develop partnerships, rectors Alexey Lubkov and Svetlana Kochetova signed an agreement on cooperation in educational, scientific, methodological and cultural cooperation, the GIFL team is actively involved in a whole range of events organized on the basis of Moscow Pedagogical University. 

Education courses held in November under the program of Doctor of Philology, professor of the Department of Russian Literature of the XX – XXI centuries, Institute of Philology of Moscow State Pedagogical University Irina Mineralova “Traditional and innovative technologies in the teaching of the humanities at the university and school” was a vivid example of the successful implementation of international cooperation. This course focuses on developing teachers' skills in optimizing the educational process and increasing students' motivation for independent educational and creative activities as well developing modern scientific, methodological and practical methods and technologies. 

In a festive atmosphere the presentation of completion of advanced training courses certificates in the amount of 72 hours was held for 31 teachers of humanitarian disciplines at the end of the event.
