Section moderator, Rector of the Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade (DonNUET) named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky Svetlana Drozhzhina, in her opening speech noted that the Donetsk People’s Republic has powerful potential that may be of interest to the scientific and educational sphere of other states.
The Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Mikhail Kushakov in his report presented the achievements of the industry and development vectors. «Investing in education is the most important factor contributing to the strengthening of the economy. The leadership of the Donetsk People’s Republic considers the issues of education and science as a priority within the framework of state policy» emphasized the minister.
Mikhail Nikolaevich dwelled on issues of interuniversity cooperation, obtaining Russian state accreditation by educational institutions of higher professional education and the beginning of the procedure for state accreditation of secondary vocational education institutions in the Russian Federation. The Minister also drew attention to the plans to open two points for passing the Unified State Exam in the Donetsk People's Republic and new directions of education development of the Republic due to active integration into the Russian educational and scientific sphere.
«The most important task facing the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR is to make the transition to education according to the new generation standards that meet the requirements of the modern innovative economy», Mikhail Kushakov said.
The Minister of Education and Science of the LPR, Sergei Tsemkalo, presented the report «Integration Processes in the Educational System of the Lugansk People's Republic: Achievements and Prospects». Vice-Rector for Research of Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishment of Higher Education «Kostroma State University» Vladislav Gruzdev spoke about the prospects for the development of higher education and science, as well as the mechanisms for realizing the task of entering into a single scientific and educational system. Rector of the South Ossetian State University named after A.A. Tibilov Vadim Tedeev shared the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of universities in modern society.
In turn, the rector of the Public Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «Donetsk National Medical University named after Gorky» the chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR, Grigory Ignatenko, focused on the issues of state accreditation in the Russian Federation, the main directions of dissertation councils development in the DPR.
The first vice-rector of Lugansk Taras Shevchenko National University Galina Sorokina shared her experience of integrating science of the Lugansk People’s Republic into the scientific and educational space of the Russian Federation.
The result of the section was, in particular, the signing of the Agreement «On the mutual recognition of education and (or) qualifications between the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR and the Ministry of Education and Science of the LPR». The document was signed by the heads of educational departments of the DPR and LPR, Mikhail Kushakov and Sergey Tsemkalo.
It is worth noting that the section was attended by representatives of the healthcare sector, headed by the Minister of Health of the DPR Olga Dolgoshapko. Natalia Pashchenko from the LPR, Olga Dolgoshapko’s colleague, also became a forum participant.
During the work of the section, an Agreement «on cooperation in the field of healthcare between the Ministry of Health of the DPR and the Ministry of Health of the LPR» was also signed.
