The exhibition was organized by the Russian writer and playwright Valentin Khaletsky, who devoted many years to charity activities aimed at helping pupils of the Sergiev-Posad boarding school for deafblind children and teenagers located in the Moscow Region of the Russian Federation. The paintings reveal the idea of the world of people with hearing and vision disabilities, their feelings and experience. The works presented at the exhibition are made of various materials: dyes and leather, threads, clay, straw, cotton wool, paper, fabric, and even dough and marmalade. All these tools help special children and teenagers to reproduce the attitude from feelings to images, not vice versa as ordinary people do.
The first Deputy Minister of education and science of the DPR Mikhail Kushakov, as well as numerous pupils of the Palace and their parents visited the exhibition in the Republican Palace of Children’s and Young People’s Creative Arts. Children engaged in a variety of creativity, were shocked by the amazing works of this exhibition, which is not similar in the world. “Feelings-in-pictures, Emostions-in-pictures,” Valentin Khaletsky told the visitors of the exhibition, “help not only their creators − people with special needs and perception − to communicate with ordinary people. Creativity opens the path to the world of sounds and colors to the authors of these paintings. This is a unique opportunity for a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of human nature and consciousness for us. And, of course, the opportunity to show their kindness and mercy”.
Behind the plot of each picture lies the story of human life, immersed in darkness and silence, but seeking to overcome their disunity with others and the world. The picture “Mother” is made up of thin cotton threads, finger-painted pictures “Universe”, “Inspiration” and “Chastity”, the images-in-pictures “Exodus” and “Victory”, the painting-feelings “Aspiration”, “Longing”, “Joy” and many others make it possible to acquaint exhibition visitors with the creative abilities of people who, despite their special and difficult fate, have not lost faith in themselves and are ready to create.
Residents of the entire Donbass, including the territories temporarily controlled by Ukraine, could get acquainted with the unique exhibition. Currently, the exhibition is in the Lugansk People’s Republic, and then it returns home to make students acquainted with it at unusual lessons of kindness in Russian schools.
