First of all, on behalf of the Committee, the Deputy of the State Duma congratulated Evgeny Gorokhov, the Minister of Education and Science, on his anniversary and presented him with a memorable address. “Dear Evgeny Vasilievich! Please, accept our cordial, sincere and warm congratulations on your wonderful anniversary! You are known as a respectful and prominent scientist, statesman, a true patriot of Donbass”, the congratulation of Vyacheslav Nikonov, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, states.

Gennady Onishchenko placed emphasis on Evgeny Gorokhov’s noble educational mission. “I remember the moment of the foundation of the University and Evgeny Vasilievich who ran it for 27 years, cherishing its best traditions. Today, the Donbass National Academy of Construction and Architecture can even surpass the Russian universities in some aspects. I wish you fruitful work, aimed at the future”, Gennady Onishchenko said.

“We are glad to have another meeting with our outstanding compatriot. We are in the same Slavic community, we have common educational standards, we are very interested in the prospects of education development in Russia”, Evgeny Gorokhov said.

The meeting participants, and namely the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science management, department heads, university rectors, heads of research institutes, received useful information about such prospects, among other things in the framework of the Russian Federation Strategy for the Scientific and Technological Development, as part of the RAS academician presentation. Among the priorities is the transition to digital, knowledge-based production technologies, information systems, clean and resource-saving economy, etc.

Gennady Onishchenko also informed the representatives of the educational community about national projects, with demography, health care and education projects, etc. among the main ones. He spoke about the preparation of topical laws by the Committee, in particular, about science, noted the prospects of scientific and technological valleys that will be created on the basis of universities and scientific organizations.

Gennady Onishchenko also shared the problems of the educational sector, stressing that a number of textbooks require revision, because they distort history (at a certain period the publishers ordered the textbooks themselves), there is a problem of personnel in rural areas, etc.

At the end of the warm meeting, Evgeny Gorokhov thanked the State Duma deputy for the tremendous assistance he renders to the educational sector of the Republic, and presented him with the departmental honorary badge “For Cooperation in the Field of Education and Science”.
