The contest started in November, 2016 and was devoted to the contemporary history of Donbass in conditions of Ukrainian military aggression. In total 130 photographers took part in the contest.  Participants are from 7 to 78 years old.  There were 353 works, 135 of them are from young photographers (up to 16).

As there were 69 participants aged up to 16  (53% of total number of all contestants), the organizing committee of the contest entered the additional nomination "Parents’ Pride".

50 works were shortlisted by the professional jury  for further exhibiting at the photo exhibition "Blockaded Donbass" in the Donetsk republican Museum of Local Lore. 11 of 50 photos were made by school students.

First place in the nomination "Pride of Parents" was taken by photowork "The war taught us  even share again a hunk of bread" Masur Marina  (8, municipal educational institution "Donetsk School No.150"). The second place is to the work "The peace begins with a smile" Kondaurova Victoria (8, Snejnoye), the third one is to the photowork "My father didn't live up to the Victory" Kartashkin Gleb (12, Thorez).

Certificates of finalists were also received by  following pupils: Antoshenko Evgenia (7, Shakhtersk CS No. 8), Luzhinskaya Elizabeth (16, municipal educational institution "Donetsk School No. 10"), Melnichenko Mark (13, Shakhtersk CS No. 11), Rodionova Veronika (8, municipal educational institution "Donetsk School No. 22 "), Fefelova Ekaterina (15, municipal educational institution "Snejnoye School No. 9 ").
